On January 20, 2010, Washington journalist, Tom Sherwood wrote in the Current Newspapers, in Tom Sherwood's Notebook, and on NBC Washington about President Obama's observance of Martin Luther King's birthday and the opportunity missed, concluding: "But, again, on the umpteenth occasion, the president failed to mention our lack of voting rights in Congress.
