The Ward Eight Democrats, Inc. were organized in 1982 and this was their 13th biennial convention. Ward Eight Democrats have always been steadfast supporters of statehood. Their message is that all D.C. Democrats across the city, including the D.C. Democratic State Committee, need to join the Ward 8 and Ward 3 Democratic Committees and actively work to get the national party and elected Democrats to support D.C. statehood.
